A house concert is a chance for independent artists like Topher to play music for an attentive crowd in a quiet intimate setting. Think of it like a “theater” show. For a short time, we will focus on experiencing art in real time away from all distractions. A chance to hear something new and original, a few familiar cover tunes, and maybe even sing along a bit. This is also a chance for the artist to cut out any middle man. No sound man to pay, no bar to split the cost of the ticket, this is a direct fan to artist experience. The donation is suggested so you can pay what you’d like, over or under the suggested amount is fine - we accept everyone!

Topher James BIO

Growing up in Gahanna, Topher grew up playing violin at 10, drums at 12, and quickly started playing gigs with musician father Jim. Musicals, churches, weddings, and many more. His rock band “Fe-Ne-Tiks” recorded two studio records, played regularly at festivals, bars, and even some out of town dates before he graduated high school. At around the time this band dissolved he started singing and writing his own songs and playing with his brother and dad in Andy Shaw Band (on drums). His own songs started in the Folk/Americana genre and moved into more soulful territory inspired by the likes of Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Robin Thicke and more. His sound has evolved into an eclectic mix sometimes referencing the swampy blues country of Lukas Nelson or the soft vocals of modern R&B artists like Emily King and Leon Bridges. He spends his time writing and playing professionally in multiple bands, teaching lessons, and working on the non profit he founded called Move Your Music Forward empowering musicians to take their craft to the next level through workshops and service work.
